Coming Soon – Casablanca In Colour with a New Improved Happy Ending

So it look like Avatar, So i like to call Avameh has broken all box office records and taken over Titanic (Cameron other film) as the highest grossing film of all time.  There does seem to be some things being kepted in the dark because it a 3D Movie and some of the numbers are being kept secrets for now.

I did a blog already about the film, i think it OK but read the review to see what i think.

The problem now is because Avatar has made all this money and it getting Awards and Nomination left right and centre.   More and More Studio thinking  3D is the future.

I hope so people got the title from the blog.  It from Gremlins 2 The New Batch.  You hear a advert for one of the TV station in the movie say “Today on the Clamp Cable Network – Casablanca, now in color with new improved happy ending!”

Where the link you are saying well  if rumors are true Gremlins Three will be in 3D and also Ghostbusters 3 is also in the run for 3D treatment.  But i want to ask you a question, Do you care if the film was in 3D?

I mean most belated sequels to films do not usually work but i am looking forward to a new Gremlins film but the writing has to be right and it got the same feel (i would say style but Gremins movies were two different beasts a little bit like Gizmo if you broke one of the rules anyway) and also I am looking forward to other Ghostbusters film but again it got to feel right.  Put it this way, i love Ghostbusters and i love the sequel (i can not understand why some people hate GB2, it the best love letter to a city i think)

But is my excitement turned up more because they going to be in 3D?

The answer is a big NO

Look studios got to find new ways to make money, stop people downloading of films and so on but 3D not the future.  i seen a few movies in 3D and only one stood out from the crowd and that was not even a 3D movie to start off with and that Coreline.

Coreline was a good film, it was only 90 minutes long and told a good story, do not get me wrong Avatar does look good but sweet lord 160 minutes of 3D and my eyes were melting.

If someone say to me on the day i went to see Avatar, look there the normal flat version you can watch in 30 minutes time, i would take the option because films are about story, Avatar does look good do not get me wrong but the story is flat, they made a 3D film with a 1D story and 1D characters.

Too many people were going Avatar amazing, it OK it not amazing, it look great but when the plot is so cookie cut from other movies and the characters are just so meh and the film is so baggy.

I mean go back to Coreline, the film was 3D up, it was not filmed in 3D but 3D version was created in post.  i went to see it in 3D because to be honest, the cinema was only showing the 3D that day but if i saw the 2D version of the film, i still would walk out going that was a good piece of cinema.

Do not get me wrong i am not discounting 3D all togetter but i think studios got to see that movies are a visual form but you got to have a good story to hook me in and make me buy the Blu Ray or DVD the months after i saw the film in the cinema.  That were the true money lies

Rush Limbaugh is a massive (sorry that too obvious) t#$t

Hello, I know it a bit old news and you should not really give more attention to idiots like Limbaugh and Robertson.  But i wanted to say something about it anyway.

Following the truly horrible earthquake which hit Haiti early in the week, aid groups, Social networking sites and Governments have rally to get donations and aid to the country at this hard time.

I would like to state for the record now, that i am a bit of a liberal (Not hardcore in the sense I think everyone got to drive an electric car).  But instead of rallying around and helping a country which has been struck so hard by the violent confrontation by gangs and political groups to the point that the UN are peacekeepers in the country and now has been hit by an earthquake that hundreds of thousand of people are unaccounted for and presumed dead.

Robertson a American TV Televangelist go on record say Haiti was struck by this earthquake because it made a deal with the devil in the 1700′s.  Hang on a minute i thought christianity and all religions was other compassion and helping your fellow man and woman, not making hurtful comments using pieces of unproven theory and thinking they are fact.  Robertson stated this story “Haitian people in that time, were under the heel of the French, uh, you know Napoleon the 3rd and whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the Devil. They [the Haitian leaders] said, ‘We will serve you [Satan] if you’ll get us free from the French.’ True story.  I am sorry Robertson you can not uses unproven stories and put true story and go hey it ok for me to make these hurtful comments.  He carry on and say the Dominican Republic is fine because it pray to God.

Also Robertson if you going to try to use Historic figures in your fake stories, used the right one, Napoleon the 3rd was not alive in the 1700′s he was born in 1808, so unless the french make a timemachine but in the day, it would be very hard for him to do that.  Anyway the French was in Hatit for a long time during the 1700′s and the start of 1800′s when the Revolution happen but Napoleon the 3rd was still pooping at that time.

Now the Limbaugh, a figure i truly hate, not many people would know of him in the UK but if you watch The Daily Show or read books by Al Franken will know about Limbaugh because they show him up for the tosser he is and how crazy his view of life and political is .  He is a right wing nutter.   I mean that is really stating the obvious but his comments this week after the earthquake really does show him to be the biggest c%^t who has a radio show.  at this point i am just going to cut and paste what he say this is from wikinews

When asked by a caller on his radio show about the president urging Americans to contribute to the Red Cross to help those effected, Limbaugh responded, “Would you trust that the money is going to go to Haiti? Would you trust that your name is going to instead end up on a mailing list for the Obama people to start asking you for campaign donations for him and other causes?”

“Besides,” Limbaugh added, “We’ve already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.”

Limbaugh went on to say that the American president “runs around the world apologizing for” the United States, and that “he now turns to us as its president and asks people who have lost their jobs because of his policies to donate to WhiteHouse.gov to the people of Haiti, and we will do it. We are the most charitable and the most generous people on the face of the earth. Each and every time a natural disaster like this happens, we step up. We are there. We have yet another crisis simply too good to waste. This will play right into Obama’s hands. He’s humanitarian, compassionate. They’ll use this to burnish their, shall we say, ‘credibility’ with the black community—in the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. It’s made-to-order for them. That’s why he couldn’t wait to get out there, could not wait to get out there.”

I mean what can i say about that, what a fucking tool (sorry about the swearing but it had to be done).  Instead of thinking the country need help as this time, he turn the idea into that Obama is going to get the money and he going to use the earthquake as a tool in the future and then uses the skin colour issue as a hateful comment.

I am not going to go into it because you can read it and see how much bullshit there is in the statement and how much of a idoit Limbaugh is.

People say we should not talk about comments like that because it give them more attention and so on but screw that, if people do not stand up against this sort of comments, it go untouched and spread more quickly and more people will start too believe the mad ranting from these people.

Look at Sarah Palin, people were eating up her speech during the race to the White House and now she on Fox News in the US and more people might be draw into the rantings by her but you just got to remember she attack on the NHS when she say If Stephen Hawkins was born in the UK, he would be dead to which Stephen Hawkins reply with I am British and without the NHS i would be dead by now.  I love the facts Right Wing nutters attack things without looking in the facts just to make sure.

The problem is that people believe them without question.  Global warming in a big subject across the world because it is affecting the world in some way but some people do not believe that it real and some Newspapers also do not believe it.  In the UK we had some snow storms which has affect the country.  Trains stopped, Road tricky so on. Not a hardship just a pain but some papers went on about that because of the snow, global warming is a myth.  I state that again, One Newspaper printed a story, saying Global Warming is a myth because the UK had a bit of snow.

Sweet Lord what the hell is wrong with people look into the facts, it might be cold in the UK but islands are sinking because of raising sea levels, Australian is in a middle of a heatwave and so on.  I mean the world is getting slowly more F%^ked than Sasha Grey (that going to get some people searching for porn disppointed haha).  But they are the same papers when it very hot, there are pictures of bikini girls on the UK beaches.  It madness.

In closing, i am sorry it been a long blog, i am doing this at work because i am waiting for a clip to be exported and it taking time.

Consolevania, Gone but not forgotten Corrected

Hello, Just a quick post and some corrections because i made a few mistakes sorry about that sorry was doing the post on the fly and my mind melted Any the other day I found out from the wonder of Twitter and Robert Florence who twitter is @robertflorence (Just Cut and Paste) one of the folks behind Consolevania that it been a year since that the show and site was finished.

Anyway if you did not know Consolevania was one of the best video games review show on the net.  Charlie Brooker love them so much he got Rab and Rab Ryan onto Screenwipe.  Anyway the boys posted episodes of the show on the net by mixing reviews of well known and niche games with comedy.

They also did work with the BBC on Video Gaiden which was brillant because it took the idea of Consolevania and took it too the unwashed masses of BBC Scotland but the goodness of the internet mean we could watch the show in England.  Any way it hard to review a show i love so much

Rob has got a Sketch Show coming to the BBC Scotland in the near future call Burnistoun (you can watch the pilot by searching on youtube) and Mr Rab Ryan has been see on other video game show on the net called Gaming Gents

Oh Man, I am looking forward to Spider Man 4, What has Sam gone and it going to be a reboot !!! What the heck!!

Sorry it been a long time since my Avatar review/rant and since then Avatar is the second biggest money making film in history behind Titanic. I got to give it to Jim Cameron, he does know how to make huge movie making films. Anyway back to what this post is about, so it been a day since Sam and Toby send out Press Releases to the world saying we had great fun making the films and Good Luck Sony with the Spiderman Franchise.

So it seem Sam left number 4 because of Script problem and wanting a Villian who is not very well know unless you read Spiderman comics and this time it seem he was not going to cave into Sony Ideas remember Spiderman 3.

During Spiderman 3, Sony wanted Venom and Sam hated Venom as a character and did not want him but he worked with Sony and looked what happen because of that, the film was full of too many villains and Venom was poorly done and over all the film was not very good. It seem Sam left because he does not want that again and with Sam gone, Toby goes as well and now Sony is going to reboot the series and bring Parker back to the high school. OK, I got nothing against Reboots, some reboots have been very good look at Batman and Bond series (OK QOS is alright but Casino Royale is great).

But Sony has got to be careful with the reboot, I think most fans of the series do not want other origin story because to be honest it was done well it the Sam series of films. If you are going to take Peter Parker back to school, show Peter problems in dealing with school work, girls and being a superhero and learning more about his powers as the story move on because it seem in the first Spiderman film, Parker learn his skills very very fast I mean if Sony want to do a origin story uses small flashbacks to show how Peter gone bitten but do not go into a full origin story for the reboot. Sony should look at the very good Spectacular Spider Man cartoon at a good stepping off point for the scriptwriters for the reboot.

The cartoon deal very well with Parker at School juggling homework, working for Dr Conner, Girls like Gwen Stacy and MJ and taking pictures for the Bulge for Jameson I mean if you do not watch cartoons because you are grown up or something silly like that but like the Spiderman movies, check out the cartoon it very good. It seem Sony wants the teenage audience for the new Spiderman film but they are a lot of fanboys out there and they need to be careful because Fanboys can destroy a comic book movies series.

I do like the idea of Parker back at school because you can do many things with it but I hope Sony do not go down the twilight route and get a really pretty boy as Parker to try to get the girls in. The whole point of Parker is that he not a ugly guy but he a normal guy which happen to get superhuman powers and has to deal with a lot of hardship because of the powers.

Anyway that it, sorry it not really a good blog but I am just rifting today.

Avatar AKA Great Filmmaking does not mean a masterpiece

So before I start the review, I want to make something clear, I did enjoy Avatar, I thought it was good, some parts were beautiful to look at but it not the future of cinema and to be honest that not a bad thing. I mean Avatar has been hype to all hell for a few years with some people creaming themselves over concept art and then the trailers and some people like me going ummmmm, I am waiting for Tron 2.

The main problem with labelling the film The Future of Cinema is that it got to be groundbreaking on so many levels, not just the CG or the way James Cameron used in the 3D to great affect but it got to be groundbreaking on storytelling as well. I know that a big ask and I am not silly but I know most stories have been told through the media of film. I mean if it was labelled The way forward in 3D cinema, I know that might not hook the punters but I think that would be a best label from Avatar.

I mean the CG is very very good in places and The 3D work very very well. I am not going to say much about the plot because to be honest the film has been all over the papers, Radio and television. Anyway back to the film, James Cameron is a great filmmaker, He create some of the best sci fi stories around look at Aliens, Terminator and T2 and with Avatar he has created a pretty world in Pandora with great creatures and some great looking scenery.

But the main problem with Avatar is the story and characters to be honest. The film is very much like Dances with Wolves. Solider going to Enemy Territory and learning the enemy ways and falling in Love with one of them and fighting with them to stop there way of life being destroyed. So Avatar and Dances With Wolves shares a lot of common themes. But with the characters in Avatar they do not seem to have any conflicted of interested and if there is a conflict it seem to get cleared up within one scene.

The film is 2 hours and 40 minutes but some of the plot details do not build up, they seem like they will be but then things get cleared up within a two minutes scene. Also Characters seem to flip flop their emotions or alliances very quickly and it just seem very forced. One of my friend liken One of the Character Parker to Burke from Aliens but said Burke would go all the way with the plan and not given a crap about anything and not get emotional. The problem with the film plot is that the film length should build up tension inside Jake as he learns the way of the Na’vi and the world of Pandora.

But Avatar is a very baggy film. The first half I really enjoy because it show Jake learning the new world around him and working both sides but conflict between him, the army and Na’vi was done in one scene and we moved on and I thought the next half of the movie seemed rush as characters jumped from one area to other by using action scenes. To be honest I not really talk about the characters in the movie because to be honest they are ok, they are not the main point of this movie really. The main character is the world of Pandora and that is done very very well and Cameron has raised the bar in 3D movies but I still find it a gimmick.

Jake Scully is a bog standard character, Marine boy who learns the way of the new world. Sigourney Weaver character of Dr. Grace Augustine I thought was a good character and there was tension between her character and Jake at the start because he is just a Marine and not a scientist but that seem to be deal with very quickly and I think that took away from the story, I want Grace and Jake to build a friendship and respect for each other. The film is baggy and I wish Cameron shorten the movie maybe and tighten plot points and created tensions between the groups which was explored through out the movie instead of wrapping things in one or two scenes.

Like I say at the beginning of this review is that I think the movie is good but not amazing or the masterpiece some people say it is. Cameron has pulled 3D and CG technology into the next level but it does not mean he make a masterpiece. Cameron has made one of the best sci fi film of all time already and that was called Aliens and that did not need 3D did it.

The World gone mad and i can not do anything about it

Hello, it has been a long time since I done a blog post.  A lot happen in the past year with me but I am not going into that to be honest.

Anyway I want to ask a quick question, has the world gone mad?

Before I start I got nothing against the woman in question but seriously why has the world gone mad for her?

Susan Boyle

I mean the world went nuts when she was on Britain Got Talent.  The US picked up on it and Cowell was rubbing his hands with a huge smile on his face.  Everything was setup to show this poor scot lassie.  So when she open her mouth the audience would be shock but come on it style of VT before the audition has been going on since Popstars.

But anyway that was the past and we moved on and then she released an album and it breaks records here and over the pond.  Also she get her own ITV special and so on.

But wait a minute; Susan Boyle in reality is just a cut price Elaine Paige.  I do not like that sort of music in the first place.  But if Elaine Paige did the same album as Boyle would it break records.  Not a chance in hell.

But people are going to say people brought it because of her story and so on.  OK but i hope they know it  a very clever marketing tool,  Cowell knew about her voice before she step on that stage and create a monster which can not be stopped.

Stuff like the X-Factor and Britain Got Talent are entertainment I know how they work and how money made out of them. But it got to stop.  Look at Jeward for crying out loud.  Every other day they are in the paper from being rubbish.  Some days I wish I could just stay in bed because I worried about the world and where was are going as a species.

If you look at it, Most of the music talent which comes from these shows are cut price versions.  Boyle = Paige,  Lewis = Houston, Burke = Beyonce.

If you like that sort of music by the stuff by the proper version, not the low rent version because of the great tale behind it.

Review: Star Wars The Clone Wars

I am going to start by saying i just seen the new animated star wars movie (OK, it a 90 minutes pilot but shown on the big screen because it Star Wars) and this review might have bad spelling and grammer because i am writing it straight into the wordpress website using the dashboard.  So here it goes.

I am so angry and pissed off with this movie.  It the worst star wars movie in the series of movies and it one of the worst film i seen in the cinema.  Also i would like to point out something about i start the review to be honest.  Massawyrm from aintitcool news wrote a very good review of the movie and wrote a part about the different between Kids Movies and Children Movies.  I will put the link for this review at the bottom of the review.

He talks about the different between them, a children movie is mean to entertain both the child or children and the adult who took them to the movie and a kid movie is just made to keep the child amused for 80 or 90 minutes and does not give a crap about the adult.  Massawyrm goes into more detail about this idea (so read that after this) but it seem someone at the Lucasfilm did not think about the idea about the difference and made a film for the invisable really dumb 6 year old child and made a pilot for a star wars animated for them.

There are many problems with this film.  One of them is that the film is set inbetween Episode Two and Three so you know Anakin, Obi-Wan and Dooku are going to be in danger but will get through it because they are in the Episode Three, So a fight between Anakin and Dooku look good but it pointless because we knew what happen in the next film.  So the element of danger is missing to the film and make it pointless to be honest.

The animation feel sometimes dull, flat and lifeless and it shows in some of the battle scenes and in space and huge battles between big ships and starfighters it look very flat, dull and uninteresting and it make me very bored.  The script is one of the worst thing i have listen too in years (it even dump for that 6 year audience they are going for).  The exchange between characters feel forced and that lead to the voice acting, it some of the worst voice acting i have ever hear in a movie, Obi-Wan sound like a weird mix between 007 Roger Moore and a drunk scot man and Anakin has got a bit more life in this movie but is still wooden and that idea of voice acting is through out the whole movie.

Two scenes are good in this film i give it that, a Battle up a mountain and a duel between Obi-Wan and  Asajj Ventress are good but to be honest they should be in a video game instead of a movie and two scenes are not good enough for a star wars movie.

The main problem with the movie is the new character which does not appear in the third film and not in the mythnology of Star Wars.  She been created to give kids something to root for in the future program, someone who learning to be a jedi, a girl who hip and witty and can mix it with Anakin and Obi-Wan.  Her name is Ahsokea Tona and she is just annoying to be honest, she made we want to punch someone to be honest.  she seem to be in every scene as well in the movie and is just a pain in the arse to watch.  The rapport between her and Anakin is just hard to watch to be honest.  It seem some forced and lay on with a big spoon to be honest.  Also she mean to be witty and funny, she keep on calling Anakin “skyguy”.  Come on Skyguy what the hell is that.

Skywalker is seen as the strong jedi among all them and is going to be Darth Vader, the baddest man in the galaxy but she calls him “Skyguy” which i bet the writers thought would be funny and the kids would love that.  This is as bad when he got called Annie in Episode One.

The story is pointless as well, it about a double crossed and Jabba the hutt and his son being kidnapped and how Dooku will uses this to his advance during the clone wars.  I will like to say a few words about the movie plot.

“I DO NOT FUCKING CARE”

I do not care about Jabba the hutt because i know nothing going to him because he in the rest of the movies and that the problem with this movie as i said before, no one in real danger because we know what happen to them in future films.

Anyway i got to finish this review because i am still angry i saw it this morning and i am still pissed off.  It seem Lucasfilms create a kids movie and that the problem.  This could have been a good CG film for the whole family because people who love Star Wars in general are over the age of 25 and might have kids and this would have be a good way to introduce them to the Star Wars Universe but it a pointless addition to the brand.  Lucasfilms create a pure kid movie and that a bad thing because it should have create a film which works across the audience spectrum and entertain them but i was bored off my arse and pissed off with a badly written and computer drawn film.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

Well, here is the review of Hellboy 2.  It been out in the states for a bit but it just going to be release in the UK on the 20th of August but i saw it at a outside screening a few weeks ago.  Anyway it directed by Guillermo del Toro (Director of Cronos, The first Hellboy Movie and Pan’s Labyrinth which won critic praise and was showered awards). 

Because of Pan’s Labyrinth Del Toro seemed to have more backing from teh studio to create the vision for Hellboy in this movie.  I like the first movie but it seem Del Toro hands were been held back a bit with the original studio (Now the Hellboy Rights are Universal).  The creator Mike Mignola was credited for the first movie but he was not really connected with the script but Hellboy 2 Mike worked with Del Toro to created the screenplay and it shows

This movie is a romp from start to finish, the audience go through a journey to the dark corners of the fantasy world.  Del Toro visions is going to the moon in this movie.  Creating markets for monsters, New Characters and the golden army itself.  I do not like tellign the plot in the movie when i review because i do not really want to spoil it and so on but i will give a short outline,  We pick up from the first movie and Hellboy and Liz are a couple but goign through a bad patch, Myers has been resign to a new department.

At the same time, a prince from the elvish race want to take the earth back from the human race by controling the Golden Army by get all the piece to a golden crown broken by the elvish king in the past during the ceasefire of Elvish race and human race war.

And so the adventure begin for Hellboy and the gang.

Anyway that the plot to be honest,  Abe Sapien is back in the film and how uses Doug Jones voice (he the guy in teh suit in the first place) and it work well and a new character Johann Krauss (Voiced by Seth MacFarlane) is introduced as Hellboy new boss.

Anyway i really enjoy Hellboy 2, i mean The Dark Knight rocks (See IMAX Style in September, It been sold out like a git in London) But Hellboy 2 is a great fun romp.  A real summer movie, The scene with Krauss and Hellboy having a fight is just funny as hell, i was laughing out loud and Hellboy and Abe in one scene togetther is just so good you got to see it for yourself because i do not want to spoil it. 

Anyway Del Toro made a great summer movie, i saw it sitting on the ground outside watching movie on a summer evening and forgot about the position i was in.  Because i was enjoying the ride. 

Anyway there are some things wrong with the movie, some of the performernces in the movie did not feel right like the princess twin of Luke Goss character feel a bit forced to be honest and some guys you play FBI agents but they are extras to be honest.

But Luke Goss, Ron Perlman and Doug Jones are great in this movie, it weird with Mr Goss, he not great when he playing a normal guy but put make up on him and turn him into a monster or elf he great and Ron Perlman is great as Hellboy he just look the part and sound the part as well and it seem a shame that this might be the last Hellboy Film with Perlman because Del Toro is off to do The Hobbit for a few years and Doug Jones is great as Abe because using his voice now the character feel a bit more real.

Well Anyway to finish  Hellboy 2 is a great fun romp, it not the greatest film made but it very enjoyment and you will walk out happy from the cinema.  Put it this way i will see it again in a cinema in a comfortable seat (ok semi Comfortable).

Meebox, BBC Three

Hello, i know it not the review of Hellboy 2 (i might do it later today but i might do it as a audio review, i will see what happen).  OK this might be old news but only found out about it the other day.  Adam Buxton (From Adam and Joe Show, 6 music Radio Show, Time Trumpet and other shows) who i think is a great comedy writer and creator as well.  Just check out this clip and see what i mean.

Also he has a Blog with video clips and news, just type him into google and you will find the blog, anyway, he created a pilot for BBC Three called Meebox and it was floating in the air for a bit and then it got shown at a stupid hour on BBC Three and i missed it completly (thank god for youtube because i found it there, just type Meebox into Youtube and you will find it in three parts). 

So the show is taking the mick partly out of the list shows,talking head shows, Celebrity and the youtube generation and it very hit and miss to be honest but it works as a comedy, it trying something new and that what comedy need at the moment, i am getting pissed off with crap sitcom and shows like Kathy Brand and Tittybang bang and Meebox look like it could be a good series and show BBC Three to be producing some bright new comedy but the BBC folks at Three and not pick up the show because it did not fix into the target audience and they got no money for it as well (but they got Money for the 200 series it seem of Two pints and tittybang bang)

Jesus Christ – I still think i could write a show for BBC Three.  I hope Channel Four watch the pilot and pick it up, i doubt it but it a wish.  Read Adam Blog to get the full story to be honest

OK, this is not the Hellboy 2 review, it will be coming soon in the next couple of days.  I just wanted to talk about Robocop to be honest and give my opinion about the reboot or new movie dependingon what interview from the studio.  Anyway Robocop there is not much to say about this film.  I was too young to see it in the cinema but i caught it on Video when i was a teenager and love it and took it to my heart. 

I can watch it over and over again, saw it the other week and still love it.  I am not going to give a detail plot run down to be honest because you should know the film and if you not seen it, go to the video store and pick it up and sit down, turn the phone off and just watch and enjoy.

Why i love this film so much is because it over the top, well design, well shot and written and witty and Satirical about America political and the way of life. 

Paul Verhoeven the director and Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner the writer created a future world where companies take over the way police forces are run and also in the newsroom scenes the way wars would be run by private companies given the thumbs up by the government (Future echoesof the Iraq War).  The styles of the television adverts and newsrooms are so witty and a great mirror to the America public is great.

Anyway the action is great and the film maker does not hold back with blood and gory in the movie which is still pretty hardcore now days and we live in the world of SAW 15 or something. 

But anyway Robocop is great, it hard to review films you love because you just think of the great things about it.  Robocop was great but the other sequels and television show sucked to be honest but i think Robocop was never meant to be a brand and PV wanted to revisit the character in the future at some point.

But now MGM want to bring back Robocop to a new audience with Darren Aronofsky  as the director and the plot which is going around the internet is that the Robocop Program is reboot 20 years after the first film in LA.  So it seem like a Reboot like in the vein of Batman Begin.

Maybe this film is going good but PV wanted to do a idea of Robocop back in the early 90′s and he want to show a future world 100 years after the first movie and Robocop was in a Museum as a piece and is reboot.  I wish MGM went to his to reboot Robo because he did it in the first place and know the world of Robocop. 

I got nothing against Darren Aronofsky, i like Pi and Requiem but i hate The Fountain (it was pretty but it went no where and damn it was self righteous bullshit to be honest).  He might do a good work.

I got nothing against remakes, some of my fav films are remakes, The Thing, The Fly and so on, Dawn of the dead remake is good as well.  But it feel at the moment hollywood is just remaking stuff because it marketable (look at Prom Night, Halloween and so on).  Some of the new remakes are rubbish (again look at Prom Night and Halloween).  Why not clean up the original film and put it back on the big screen and market that.

I know that sound mad but give it a shot and see what happen.  It just feel the films i loved as a teenager are getting drag through shit.  Most horror remake so some reason give characters back story (i do not care, if poor Michael Mum was a stripper, so he went mad).  Remakes can happen and the Ocean Films apart from the second one, prove you can make a good series out of a old movie but rebooting ideas like Robocop might not be a great idea, i do not think it going to have the same wit and comedy timing as the first one which make it a great movie in the first place and i bet you any money it going to be PG-13.

Anyway thanks for reading and just rent out Robocop if you not see it, it great trust me.
